Tiny Christmas Market

This year, in stead of having multiple chalets at the Wauwatosa Holiday Market or Christkindl Market, opening a pop-up shop at the 3rd Street Market Hall. You’ll find us there every day until Christmas.

We’ll have our buttery-delicious caramels, 4 ounce packages and gift boxes, in all sorts of flavors. Schocolad’ Bär Sipping Chocolate is in stock, in five different flavors/sweetness levels. We have Caramel Sauce, while it lasts. Caramel Crispies are back for the holidays, along with cinnamon frosted almonds and other nuts.

We’ve also brought in a good selections of holiday treats from Europe: things like, stollen, lebkuchen and other gingerbread and cookies, hot cocoa mixes, Advent calendars, marzipan, hard candies, teas, chocolates, and stocking stuffers for St Nicholas day.

Glass Christmas ornaments make wonderful gifts, because every year, they remind us of those who gave them to us. And what Christmas tree couldn’t use a couple new ornaments every year?

We also have some local products like Brew City Pickles and Carries Crispies.

One last product that is new for us: a product that is seen at Christmas markets all over Europe… Paper Star Lanterns. If you’re in the market for a star lantern, or even if y ou want to see what they’re all about, stop in for the best selection.

We will endeavor to be open every day, from 11:00 AM to 7 PM; however opening and closing times may vary somewhat due to staffing issues. Our apologies.

German Christmas Market of Oconomowoc

Nestled against the shore of Fowler Lake lies the promise of something grand for you and your kinfolk this Thanksgiving weekend. The German Christmas Market of Oconomowoc is the perfect place to gather and enjoy authentic European food & drink and shop for handcrafted gifts. Feel transported to a magical holiday wonderland complete with live polka music, a heated Biergarten, photos with Santa and more. The Christmas Market is a can’t-miss shopping and entertainment venue that rivals even those found in Europe. No holiday season is complete without a day (or two) out at the German Christmas Market of Oconomowoc. This 8th annual event is a celebration of our sister city, Dietzenbach, Germany and the hearty German community here in Wisconsin.

This year look for us in a large tent instead of our usual location in a wooden hut.

Whether you are German or not, we promise you will feel like you are. There are warm tents and outdoor festivities, so the weather matters little. We have special guests slated throughout the event and live entertainment from start to finish. Prost!

Old World Christmas Market

The 2023 Old World Christmas Market is open daily from 10 AM – 5 PM, December 1 – 10, 20213.

Reminiscent of the centuries-old Christkindlesmarkt of Nüremberg, Germany, the 23rd annual Old World Christmas Market at The Osthoff Resort offers the warmth and merriment of this Old World tradition. The Osthoff Resort’s Old World Christmas Market was voted #1 Best Holiday Market by USA Today’s Readers’ Choice 2018! For ten consecutive days, guests stroll the aisles of a grand heated tent bedecked with fragrant boughs of fresh evergreens and the tantalizing scents of roasted almonds and Nüremberg bratwurst as they browse for unique and specialty items among international and regional artisans. Czech blown-glass ornaments, Russian nesting dolls, German hand-carved smokers and nutcrackers, fine apparel, handmade amber and silver jewelry, Turkish pashmina scarves and shawls, stained glass art, Russian hand-painted Santas, fresh green wreaths, kissing balls and centerpieces, alpaca products, Estonia woolens, fine chocolates, Plauen lace, fine woodwork, fur products and much more!

The Old World Food Court offers shoppers space to relax and enjoy delectable German fare, such as hot glühwein, sauerbraten, dumplings, schnitzel, potato pancakes, red cabbage, pulled pork and apple strudel. Father Christmas, the venerable old gentleman in his berry red, fur-trimmed suit, roams the market merrily greeting children of all ages. So be sure to bring along your camera for some memorable photo opportunities.

Overnight Accommodations
The Osthoff Resort has everything you’d want for a cozy winter escape: Delicious, soul-warming food at two on-site restaurants, swimming pool and whirlpool, fireside nook in the cocktail lounge and picturesque, snow-dusted landscapes.

To book overnight accommodations, see our Winter Packages.

Holy Hill Art Farm

Holy Hill Art Farm

A reminder of a time when life was simple and slower paced...

Shaped by the last great glacier, Washington County's landscape is richly blessed with wooded hills, clear lakes, sparkling streams, lush valleys, meandering rivers, burgeoning wetlands, and fertile farmland. Here visitors will discover culturally diverse communities, rural parks, historic sites and tranquil retreats located in a landscape full of wildlife. No wonder it is also the fastest growing county in Wisconsin.

The Holy Hill Art Farm is located near the Basilica. This shrine sits atop a 1,350 foot tall hill, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. Homes, churches and commercial buildings built by 19th century German and Irish pioneers have been preserved, remain in use and are on view in historical districts found throughout this area.

Visible for miles in all directions, Holy Hill beckon travelers to visit this special place. Tourists flock this area all year round but September and October are especially busy. Once the leaves start to turn, there's not a better place in Wisconsin to soak up Mother Nature's yearly canvas.

We present to you the treasures of our local artists, farmers and collectors:

Come meet our Market Folks. See their work and talk with them about custom work.

Go back to the basics... Sit and enjoy coffee, hot sandwiches & soup, bakery and other refreshments. Check out our New Grainery Bar for Bloody Marys and Sangrias! Bring family and friends to enjoy lunch and our live musicians while taking your time to Shop - Relax - Create.

Look for Cream City Caramels in the Machine Shed.
