Mitten Fest 2020

Mitten Fest 2020

via Milwaukee Record

Now that New Year’s festivities have come and gone, folks in Milwaukee are forced to come to terms with the harsh realization that winter is here and there’s not much to do outside. Fortunately, we’re less than a month from a one-day respite from the seasonal doldrums that offers an outdoor escape from the norm every February. For the past seven years, Burnhearts’ Mitten Fest has helped combat cabin fever for thousands of people who converge in a two-block stretch on Bay View’s Potter Avenue (and part of Logan the last four years) with a wintry mix of live music, food, beverages, and charity.

That equation alone is enough to have more than 8,000 people already pledging their interest in attending the 8th annual Mitten Fest on Facebook, even though the entertainment lineup hasn’t been announced. Until now, that is. Today, Milwaukee Record—an official media sponsor of Mitten Fest along with WMSE 91.7FM—is proud to announce the eclectic and altogether awesome musical lineup that will take the stage (listed headliner to opener) on Saturday, February 1.

6 p.m. start – The Eradicator

4:45 p.m. – ZED KENZO

3:30 p.m. – Lauryl Sulfate & Her Ladies Of Leisure

2:15 p.m. – Saebra & Carlyle

1 p.m. – King Eye & the Squirts

(Between-act DJing by Christopher Schulist)

As if the stacked cast of musicians isn’t enticing enough, Burnhearts will serve rare and limited beers from Central Waters Brewing Company and Bell's Brewery, barrel aged old fashioneds from Korbel (with Bittercube Bitters), Tito's Handmade Vodka Milk Punch, Valentine Coffee Roasters and Tullamore Dew Irish coffee, hot toddy, and ginger brandy (plus a full bar inside). An array of local vendors including Foxfire Food Truck, Twisted Plants, Iron Grate Bbq Co., Drift, Hue Vietnamese Restaurant Milwaukee, and Cafe Corazon Bay Viewazon will sell food and non-alcoholic beverages. Cortney Heimerl (of Hover Craft) will enlist a varied grouping of local vendors (Including Cream City Caramels) for an art, craft, and maker fair. As always, Burnhearts will also accept cash and non-perishables for Hunger Task Force, Inc. along with clothing donations. Also, Compost Crusader will strive to reduce waste.

Happy Mitten Fest, Milwaukee! We’ll see you there.
